History of the CCIC

The CCIC exposes students to a career in space, cybersecurity, and satellites, as well as provides them the opportunity to interact with industry leaders and learn how one’s life may be transformed by technology.  Cal Poly does not charge students or their school systems to participate in the CCIC, which allows all communities in the State of California to participate in this event.

Over the last four years, the event has quadrupled in size. However, there are still many underrepresented education communities that the CCIC wishes to reach for future competitions. The heat map reflects areas where students participate from in the State of California.  In 2020, Cal Poly anticipates 40 teams competing in the CCIC. Cal Poly is currently accepting applications from schools to join the competition now through March.  The following video provides an overview of the event and application process
