2018 State of California Cybersecurity Education Summit Features CCI Program Manager Martin Minnich
On Oct. 9, 2018, the California Cybersecurity Institute Program Manger Martin Minnich was a featured panelist for the closing keynote discussion on cybersecurity at the State of California Cybersecurity Education Summit.
In the face of increasing cybercrime, the 2018 Summit brought together Cal Poly’s California Cybersecurity Institute (CCI) with other leading solution providers from across the nation. Over 800 attendees from government, industry, and education came to learn about and discuss the future of cyber defense for California.
The closing panel was moderated by Chris Cruz, Deputy State Chief Information Officer and Chief Deputy Director for the State of California Department of Technology. Joining Minnich on the panel were other industry experts from IBM and the California Cyberhub. The summit requested Minnich to discuss the CCI’s programs focusing on workforce development and the Women in Cyber Series. Additionally, Minnich discussed the upcoming Internet of Things Hackathon.
“As technology continues to evolve and affect more of our daily lives, more people become vulnerable to cyberattack. It was a pleasure to collaborate with other cyber-conscious leaders about how we can protect Californians from inevitable cyber threats together,” said Minnich.
