Aras "Russ" Memisyazici Joins the Cal Poly California Cybersecurity Institute as Technical Fellow
Aras "Russ" Memisyazici, M.Sc, AKA Prof. M., is a technology architect and solution evangelist who enjoys helping others in his community to adopt current best practices of cybersecurity and technology in general into their daily working lives.
Memisyazici is currently the Lead DevSecOps Architect for Aon, a leading professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions. He is also the co-founder of the Virginia Cyber Range and the Technical Fellow for the California Cyber Range. He has served in academia both as a faculty member and instructor for over 20 years.
Among his accolades, he counts his first B.S. degree progress in Math and Economics from Virginia Tech, his second B.S. degree in CS from Radford University and his master's from VT-MIT in Cyber Security and Machine Learning with AI.
Some of his certifications include AWS' coveted Solutions Architect Pro and Security certs along with their equivalents in the Azure and Google Cloud platforms. He also holds several cybersecurity-specific certifications from world-renowned organizations such as SANS (where he is officially a mentor and has taught in the program), CompTIA, EC Council, etc. He also holds certifications in the DevSecOps community including the SCRUM Alliance's CSM, and more.
Memisyazici has taught and given talks at several global organizations such as the NSA GenCyber program, the US Cyber Patriot program, Blackhat, DEFCON, and local BSides events.
